Vybz Kartel And Former Business Partner Corey Todd Reuniting?

Business man Cory Todd and jailed dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel are to be reunited for a business deal. Music News understands that the two who severed ties last year following a sour and public spilt, are to join forces for the continuation their business partnership.
Todd's publicist, Claude Mills confirms that the two have come to a business agreement to put out their products including the rum. Karel who has been in jail since last year have been in dialogue with Corey Todd via letters for the past few months.
Over four years, the Vybz Kartel, Corey Todd business partnership has seen the purchase of The Building, the birth of Street Vybz Rum and Daggering Condoms.
After the business partnership ended, Todd took up entertainers Beenie Man, Aidonia, Khago, Jah Vinci and producer Notnice but those business involvments were shortlived.

Akon plans to unveil all-Reggae album

Internationally acclaimed hip-hop superstar and singer, Akon looks to truly connect with fans of another popular genre as he plans to release an all-Reggae album in the near future.

Currently completing work on his fourth studio album, Stadium, the Senegalese-born artiste insists that he was inspired to work on an all-Reggae project after visiting Jamaica in January. During his time in the island, Akon visited Tuff Gong studios where he worked on projects with prominent Reggae megastars, Damian Marley andStephen Marley as well as Julian Marley. Additionally, he toured the Bob Marley Museum and even tweeted pictures while on the legendary premises.

In a recent interview with Billboard.com, Akon spoke of his admiration for the Marley's, insisting that they motivated him to achieve greater heights while in the creative process of music.

"It was such an honor to be in that environment and be inspired by it," he said."They had me writing three to four songs a day because I was so amped!"

Now Akon looks to build off that experience by creating an all-Reggae compilation and even hinted that the Marley's would feature on the album.

"I always said to myself, 'When I get to that position when I can do an all-reggae album, I would love to do it,' and those guys are the best to do it with," he said.

Akon has joined forces with highly regarded Jamaican acts before, teaming with Reggae songstress, Tami Chynn on the 2008 single, Frozen while most recently collaborating with Alliance and We The Best Music Group singjay, Mavado for Survivor last Christmas.

Meanwhile, Akon's Stadium album will feature Stephen Marley on the single, Just a Man.

Stadium is set for release this September.

The international platform for prominent Dancehall singjay, Mavado keeps growing after a major merger within hip-hop circles has made him part of another highly regarded record label.
Last summer, Mavado signed his first international record deal with DJ Khaled's We The Best Music Group and has since release reputable efforts such as Emergency with label mate, Ace Hood as well as Survivor featuring Senegalese-American hip-hop artiste, Akon and Soulja Girl. Additionally, the Do Road singer has been touring across the United States in recent months in an effort to market himself in the country following the re-issuance of his visa last July.
Earlier this week, Cash Money Records co-founder, Birdman announced that his label has now signed We The Best Music Group under their imprint, making Mavado an affiliate of the Young Money Cash Money Billionaires (YMCMB) as he's now under the Cash Money umbrella.
According to Mavado's long-time manager, Julian Jones-Griffiths, he and the Gully Gaad have been aware of this deal for quite some time, even before the singjay signed with We The Best Music Group and believes that the deal will be beneficial for all parties involved.
Additionally, he relayed that the move will be beneficial for all parties involved given the fact that Cash Money Records will now be involved in directly promoting and marketing Mavado's projects with We The Best. Also, given Mavado's close relationship with the Young Money Cash Money Billionaires, Jones-Griffiths believes that more collaborations are in store between Mavado and their artistes and even hinted that the public will soon hear them.
For his part, Mavado believes that the merger only adds to his international status while intimating that this will affect him in a positive way given the label that they're now affiliated with.
The Cash Money Records label features a slew of premiere hip-hop talent who've enjoyed countless mainstream success, including Grammy-winning hip-hop megastar, Lil Wayne, Trinidadian-American hip-hop superstar, Nicki Minaj and Canadian singing/rapping sensation, Drake, with whom Mavado has performed alongside on numerous occasions.
